Homecoming Dress Guidelines

As you begin looking for your dress for Homecoming, here are some guidelines for you to keep in mind.

Strapless
  • Must have straps attached to the dress. Spaghetti straps are fine.
  • Necklines no lower than four (4) fingers from collar bone
  • Back of dress above bra line
  • Slits no higher than the top of the knee
  • No cupping
Halter
  • Not all halter style dresses are acceptable.
  • Dress must have a strap that secures the dress around the neck.
  • The dress cannot be low-cut under the arms.
  • The back of the dress must be above the bra line just like the strapless dresses that we have approved in the past.
  • Necklines no lower than four (4) fingers from collar bone
  • Slits no higher than the top of the knee
Short Length Dresses
  • Must have straps attached to the dress. Spaghetti straps are fine.
  • Necklines no lower than four (4) fingers from collar bone
  • Back of dress above bra line
  • Slits no higher than the top of the knee
  • No cupping
  • With a short length formal, keep in mind that any final alterations that may have to be made to this particular style dress will still need to be at the top of the knee.
  • All shorter length dresses must have a solid material to the top of the knee regardless of any sheer overlay.
Mrs. Cronin will approve dresses this year.  She will approve dresses during any free hour she has or immediately after school.  If you have a dress that will need to be altered, it will need to be checked a second time – no exceptions.  The deadlines for all dress checks will be Monday, October 7th.
