Homecoming 2020

Homecoming 2020 is just around the corner!  Or is it Homecoming 2021?  Our Pandemic Manual doesn’t address how to renumber Homecomings.

Re-Enrollment for 2021-2022

In the past, Re-enrollment has been in March, with Open Enrollment for new students beginning April 1st. In order to help our prospective parents make decisions earlier for next year, we will move up Re-Enrollment this year.

The Re-enrollment period will begin February 1st. Parents will have the full month of February to re-enroll online via FACTS to secure their seat next year. You will receive information on how to re-enroll via email on that day, and there will remain a discounted registration fee for re-enrolling by February 15th. Any changes to tuitions or fees will be posted before February 1st for you to review.

Open Enrollment will begin March 1st for new students. We have already begun receiving applications for next year, and we have far more than we normally have at this point in the year. While this is a tremendous opportunity for us to minister to more families in our community, it also means that re-enrolling before the end of February will be imperative to secure a seat next year for our current families. Once we begin enrolling new students on March 1st, we cannot guarantee spots after that time.

Junior Homecoming 2020 Update

Here are the current standings for Junior Homecoming.

Helping a Family

Tabernacle has a family who recently suffered a total loss of property in a house fire.  We would like to organize a drive to help them during this time.

The family has two immediate physical needs that I hope our Tabernacle family can help with.  The first is for clothing for their little girl.  She wears a 4T and a size 7 in shoes.  The second need is for paper products (paper plates, paper towels, etc.).

If you would like to help in either of these areas, you can drop off your donations to the school by the end of school on Friday.  You can simply bring the items to the front office, and we will pass them along to the family.

Beyond the physical needs, please be in prayer for this family as they navigate the waters ahead of them.  We are thankful for a God who is our refuge and strength, our certainty in the most uncertain times!

Thank you in advance for being a blessing to this family!

Homecoming 2020 Update – 8/18/2020

Our Homecoming Week was originally scheduled for the week of August 31th.  However, we are going to reschedule all Homecoming events.  This includes the selling of Homecoming t-shirts and Homecoming Court.

We have seen some games cancelled already this season, and we don’t want to risk having a Homecoming game cancelled.  Moving Homecoming to the basketball season will give us time to get a better sense of sports this year and hopefully give us that Friday game to rally around.

When the basketball schedule is finalized, we will announce the new Homecoming Week.  We look forward to celebrating with everyone!

School Opening Update 7/31/2020

Tabernacle Family,

As we get closer to the start of school, we continue to take some common sense and practical measures toward reopening the school in the current climate.  As we said in the last message, we have put preventative and responsive measures in place that will allow us to reopen our doors to the physical classroom.  These same measures have been in place this summer with our Kindergarten and Elementary Summer Daycamps, and we have been able to remain open and functioning.

Update on School Reopening for 2020-2021

Thank you all for your patience as we have worked on preparing the 2020-2021 school year.  There is simply no roadmap for times like these.  We can only consider all factors and make decisions we feel are in the best interest of our families and our faculty and staff.

Christian Character Awards 2019-2020

While we were unable to have our full Honors Assembly, we did want to spotlight our Christian Character Award winners for the 2019-2020 school year.

Details for Picking up Materials 4/7/2020

We will have all materials ready for pickup tomorrow at 9:00am and 3:00pm. You may come at either time, so you can choose which fits best with your schedule. We will be taking every precaution we can to be safe, but that may mean a slower process than a normal pickup. Here is what you can do to help us speed things up.

1.  When you arrive, please go all the way down to the far end of the parking lot (near the dumpster) and turn back into the parking lot. We expect a lot of people at one time, and we need to be sure we can keep traffic from backing up onto Highway 31.
It would help greatly if you could print your name in bold print on a sheet of paper and have it in your windshield. Material is separated by family, so knowing which family you are at a quick glance will help tremendously. If you don’t have the ability to do this, that’s ok!

2.  Mrs. Earley will be stationed near the lunchroom adding a note with your name to the outside of your windshield. The more families that can be prepared beforehand, though, will help things be quicker.

3.  As you come around the front of the building, please pull into 3 separate lines like we do each normal afternoon. Mrs. Wooters will have a stop sign down towards the gym indicating how far for the first cars to pull up.

4.  Mrs. Harmon will be calling out family names as you pull through. We will have a crew of workers in masks and gloves ready to bring your material to your car. You will not not have to leave your vehicle.

5. Between trips to cars, we will have two teachers working to sanitize the gloves of the ones bringing the material to the cars.

6. Our staff will also be picking up the work from the last 3 weeks that students should have completed. Please bag these items and put your child’s name and grade on it. We will be sure it gets to his/her teacher so proper credit can be given.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone again, even if it is just through a windshield!
