Homecoming 2020 Update – 8/18/2020

Our Homecoming Week was originally scheduled for the week of August 31th.  However, we are going to reschedule all Homecoming events.  This includes the selling of Homecoming t-shirts and Homecoming Court.

We have seen some games cancelled already this season, and we don’t want to risk having a Homecoming game cancelled.  Moving Homecoming to the basketball season will give us time to get a better sense of sports this year and hopefully give us that Friday game to rally around.

When the basketball schedule is finalized, we will announce the new Homecoming Week.  We look forward to celebrating with everyone!

Athletic Department Changes for 2020-2021

As we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, there are several exciting changes in our Athletic Department for the Fall.

Upcoming Basketball Games

Two basketball games have been added to the schedule for this week.

Basketball Game at Providence Classical 12/9

Tonight we have two away games at Providence Classical.  The Junior High boys will play at 6:00pm, and the Varsity boys will play at 7:00pm.
Providence Classical rents a gym from Clements Baptist Church for their games, They want to be good guests, so they have sent us a few requests to pass along to those planning to travel for the game.

Football Awards 2019

While the football season ended with a hard fought loss to Russell Christian Academy in the championship game, the accolades kept rolling in after the final whistle for several members of the team.
Senior Elijah McPherson was named an All-Conference offensive lineman as well as named the Offensive Player of the Year.
Senior Josiah Davis was named an All-Conference linebacker and an All-Conference running back.
Coach Keith Dabbs was named the Coach of the Year.
Congratulations to these guys and to the whole team for a great season.  Go Torches!

What Did He Say??

If you attended our Homecoming game on Friday, you may have found yourself asking, “What did he say?”

Championship Game!

Join us for the Championship Game tonight against the Warriors of Russell Christian Academy!  Kickoff is at 7:00pm.  The game will be played at Tuscaloosa Christian School.  You can find directions to the game here.

Archery Night

We will host an Archery Night on September 6th at 6:30pm.  The Regional Director for the Alabama Department of Conservation will be there to discuss the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), tournaments, and scholarship opportunities.  We will also have information on the Archery season and practices.  Some members from our Archery team will put their skills on display, and we will have time for interested students to try their hand at it as well.
Anyone interested in Archery is welcome to attend.  Archery will be available for students in Grades 04-12.
