Junior Homecoming 2020 Update

Here are the current standings for Junior Homecoming.

Junior Homecoming!

Representatives from each class were recently chosen by their classmates to represent the class in this year’s Junior Homecoming.  Congratulations to these students for this honor!

Basketball Games on 11/10

Our first basketball games of the season will be next Tuesday at Valley Fellowship.  Unfortunately, due to their current COVID restrictions, they are not allowing visiting fans in the gym for the games, so please plan accordingly.
If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Director, Jeremy White.

Helping a Family

Tabernacle has a family who recently suffered a total loss of property in a house fire.  We would like to organize a drive to help them during this time.
The family has two immediate physical needs that I hope our Tabernacle family can help with.  The first is for clothing for their little girl.  She wears a 4T and a size 7 in shoes.  The second need is for paper products (paper plates, paper towels, etc.).
If you would like to help in either of these areas, you can drop off your donations to the school by the end of school on Friday.  You can simply bring the items to the front office, and we will pass them along to the family.
Beyond the physical needs, please be in prayer for this family as they navigate the waters ahead of them.  We are thankful for a God who is our refuge and strength, our certainty in the most uncertain times!
Thank you in advance for being a blessing to this family!

Alabama College Application Week 2020

Each year, the Alabama College Application Campaign works with colleges to offer a week when those institutions waive their application fees.  This year, the Alabama College Application Week will be October 19-23.
During this week, Alabama students can apply to many in-state colleges, as well as several out-of-state colleges for free.  With the average college application fee at $44 in the US, this is a great opportunity for students to apply to several colleges in which they may be interested.
You can find the Alabama Department of Education’s release concerning this event here.  Along with the list of colleges waiving their application fees, you can also find tips on college scholarships.
We encourage every senior to take advantage of this opportunity and apply to at least one college.  An application will not commit you to a school, but it will allow you to start a conversation with them about admissions and possible scholarship opportunities.

Elementary Dropoff 10/20-10/22

We are having maintenance on our gym floor October 20-22.  Since our high school will still be out at that time, Elementary students will be dropped off at the front of the church before 8:00am on those days.

Class Officers 2020-2021

Last week we held voting for class officers for the 2020-2021 school year.  Each officer was nominated and elected by their peers.  We are proud of each of these students and look forward to a great year with them!
