Hoodies and Jackets and Sweatshirts! Oh My!

There has been some confusion concerning wearing sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets if bought from our online Spirit Store.

Our school dress code policy has been that sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets could be worn during the cold season, but during the hotter parts of the year, they were to be left in lockers once at school.  This is an important part of the policy to ensure neatness, modesty, and appropriateness.

High School Homecoming Challenge

All week our High School students have been competing against each other in Homecoming competitions.  They have dressed up, competed in a War Tournament, created class signs, squared off in a trivia challenge, eaten crazy jelly beans, and even written haikus all about our school spirit!  It came down to the final day, but the Homecoming Champions were finally crowned…
CONGRATULATIONS SOPHOMORE CLASS!
For some of the highlights of the week, be sure to see our pictures posted on Facebook.

Teen Driver Summit

On September 27th, our 10th Grade will have the opportunity to attend a Teen Driver Summit, presented by State Farm Insurance.  The Keynote Speaker will be Philip Lutzenkirchen, Executive Director of the Lutzie 43 Foundation.  The students will participate in various breakouts sessions during the Summit, which will focus on the importance of good decision making behind the wheel.  They will also have their chance to get behind the wheel in a Driving Simulator!

There is no cost for this event for our students.  Permission slips will be sent home shortly.  Parents wanting more information can visit the ASF Foundation website.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kizzire or Mr. McBrayer.

Back to School Revival

Don’t forget our Back to School Revival is this week!  Students in Grades 07-12 will need to be in Chapel dress Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

The services will begin at 9:00am each morning.  Our Speaker is Bro. Eric Capaci from Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  Parents are certainly welcome to join us each day!

We will kick off our Revival with a Back to School Worship Service this evening at 7:00pm.  While we are not ones to typically spread rumors, we have heard that the Homeroom who has the most students present for this Sunday night event will have casual days on Thursday and Friday of this week!
