There has been some confusion concerning wearing sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets if bought from our online Spirit Store.

 

Our school dress code policy has been that sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets could be worn during the cold season, but during the hotter parts of the year, they were to be left in lockers once at school.  This is an important part of the policy to ensure neatness, modesty, and appropriateness.

 

This year we wanted to find a way to make concessions to those students who prefer to wear these items year round, but to retain that neatness, modesty, and appropriateness.  To that end, we announced that students could wear sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets if they were ones purchased from our new online Spirit Store.  These were items we knew would be neat, modest, and appropriate, and it would promote school spirit.

 

This has no effect on the colder months.  The policy during those months remains that any sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets can be worn during this time, as long as they are still neat, modest, and appropriate.  During these cold months, they do not have to be from the Spirit Store.

 

The Spirit Store was simply a way to give students an opportunity to wear these items when they otherwise would not.  We hope this helps clarify the issue, but please feel free to let us know if you have further questions.
